Bootcamp Week, Let’s Keep it Going!
January 8, 2014
Welcome back from the holidays! We hope all of you had a great break, but it’s time to get down to business again! As you might have noticed, things move fast at Velocity. Change is all around at this stage of the organization’s growth as the new brand and Velocity Alpha take over for the recently retired title of Velocity Campus. But, some things never change, like the craziness and jam-packed excitement of the Velocity Residence Bootcamp!
Like previous years, the Velocity Residence Bootcamp features a full week of startup programming. If there was ever a time and place to learn the A to Z approach of becoming an entrepreneur, this is it. Over 70 students who have been accepted to the Velocity Residence will have the opportunity to listen, compete and learn through a variety of activities and speaker workshop.
Some of the highlights of the week include hands-on networking workshops and a whole cast of speakers from Mike Kirkup, to Larry Smith, to Ted McKechnie. A brand new feature of this year’s Bootcamp is the much-anticipated “Toy Night.” This night is designed to get everyone in the residence up to speed using all the awesome technology made available by Velocity. Students will have the chance to get their hands on an Oculus Rift, learn how to use a 3-D printer, and try out the brand new developer kit for the MYO gesture control armband!
Ahh, it’s that time of the year again. New Years is done, Christmas has passed, which means there is more time for Bootcamp. Here we go!
