Velocity Chosen as a Leader for new BizSpark Plus Program for Startups

Today, Microsoft announced a partnership with more than 150 accelerators and startup programs from around the world, including Waterloo Region’s own Velocity, to exclusively offer the updated BizSpark Plus program to startups.

Velocity, L-Spark, The Next 36, MaRS, Highline and FounderFuel are the Canadian accelerators that will have the ability to enroll startups into BizSpark Plus, which is a 12-month program that includes cloud services, software and tools for startups as well as Azure credits of up to $120,000.

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform and infrastructure for building, deploying and managing applications and service through Microsoft datacenters.

Mike Kirkup, Director of Velocity, said: “We’re thrilled that Velocity companies will be able to take advantage of this opportunity and we are honored to be in great company as a lead partner for Microsoft in Canada through this program.”
