This past Monday and Tuesday the VeloCity team was out at the OCE Discovery Conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This two day conference brought together a number of great successful entrepreneurs, speakers and students from around the world showcasing what’s to come in the very near future. Of honourable mention: Steve Wozniak making a grand entrance on his personal Segway, talking about his past and present experiences as a creative entrepreneur.

VeloCity Bootcamp students attended day two of the conference to meet the people who are currently sponsoring their stay and work here at VeloCity. Bootcamp student, David Villarreal from Bloq Software has this to say about his experience at the 2010 OCE Discovery Conference:

“The amount of interesting projects and ideas flowing through the walls of the conference auditorium definitely made the 6 am wake up call, rush hour traffic and overall trip to Toronto very worthwhile! I would suggest attending future OCE Discovery conferences and learning about what cool innovations are coming down the pipeline, to anyone who has a passion for technology and innovation!”

The conference ended with an awards ceremony hosted by Dalton McGuinty, recognizing the world-class innovators who are currently changing the face of medicine, health technology, cleantech, communications technology and digital media. Overall, a great experience had by all at this years OCE Discovery Conference!
