“In life, you come across a few things that are just too perfect to pass up – for us, Start-Up Chile is one of those things”

– Andrew Cross, CEO, GooseChase

Remember GooseChase? They have bested the competition at VeloCity’s End of Term Exhibition the past two terms, teamed with Crackberry to hold a worldwide scavenger hunt, and even made golf exciting at the Waterloo Region Twitterment. Now, they’re going to conquer Chile.  Andrew Cross, GooseChase CEO, just broke the news that they will be moving to Santiago, Chile, to take part in the 24-week program offered by Start-Up Chile. Created by the Chilean government, Start-Up Chile invites startups to bootstrap it in Chile for 6 months in exchange for providing them with US$40,000 of equity-free funding, and a 1-year Chilean visa to develop their projects.

It’s certainly a great opportunity, and though Andrew mulled over the decision for quite some time, he found the advantages of globalization too good to pass up. “The aspect I’m most excited about is getting to know the highly diverse set of entrepreneurs in the program. I think we sometimes get stuck in the bubble of what we know, and stepping out and living in another culture is a great way to break that habit. Everyone knows globalization is happening, yet few people actually act aggressively on it. By living in another culture and working with a global network of entrepreneurs, we are positioning ourselves perfectly going forward,” notes Andrew.

With less than a week left before their move, Andrew is certainly excited, “it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and we’ve got high hopes for what we can accomplish there”.

    Thanks Fraser!

Will either be blogging on my personal blog (http://www.andrewcross.ca/) or the GooseChase blog (http://goosechase.com/blog/). Probably a bit of both depending on the topic.
